Grammatical Inconsistencies

Does anyone else find themselves somewhat uncomfortable that, in the context of relational databases, we say such as "Join" and "Project", but we also say such as "Intersection" and "Union"? Why not "Junction" and "Projection" or "Intersect" and "Unite"?
