Golly gee, what does THAT mean? I'm coming from trying to figure out why relational theory is taught and marketed big time when my way-too-many-years of practice have given me the impression (not the proof) that other approaches work better. I'm really on a search for why this difference exists -- between what I have learned from books and seem with my eyes -- I'm still learning, so when I get to preachin' instead, feel free to call me on it..

I'm also a future-thinker and it seems to me that RDBMS's will need to change significantly if they don't want to lose that king-of-the-hill position.
