I agree that object bashing is unproductive.

The problem with object oriented programmers is not that they are object oriented. The problem is that they are programmers.

And, like the COBOL programmers of yesteryear, they tend to think of the database as being "like a file cabinet". Those of us who think of the database as being "like a library" are bound to come into conflict with them.
