This seems to be the great point under debate over several years. Whether the domain definitions should be made for the benefit of coders who understand the project requierments but have only a dim understanding of the subject matter, or whether domain definitions should flow out of a fairly comprehensive data analysis of the subject matter, and change when understanding of the subject matter changes.
This gets reflected in database design. Is a database schema merely code, or is it a reflection of the subject matter from a data centric point of view? Received on Mon Mar 29 2004 - 13:37:17 CEST
