An interesting db, and the Mac and it's OS are amazing. I have no prior experience with Phyla. Phyla seems to provide a much higher-level of abstraction, although the example relating Users, Software and PCs could also be implemented in XDb, except relationships between things are not named (ie "Is Used By", "Is Installed On", etc) but derived, if possible.
