Most database programs come with a sample database.

If you want to import a third party table, one possibility is the ZIP code data, zcta5.zip, that you can obtain from the US Census Bureau. It gives latitude, longitude, etc. for the various ZIP code localities. You will have to remove a few lines where they have used letters in the ZIP codes and, if you only want 1000 rows, throw away the remaining 32,000 rows.

For fun, compute the distances between ZIP code localities using the formula from spherical trigonometry.
