Lost Schema

I am new to this, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Suppose you have at some point in time lots of relations and you had to build a universal relation (or in general you may have a big big relation). The point is to analyze its data and induce a new schema/description of this.

Is there some work on that ? Is there something that gives a solution to this problem ?
