Lead and Senior Level DB2 Database Administrators

This critically important group offers hardware and software support to multiple data centers across the nation, which operate 24/7, 365 days a year.

Your primary responsibilities are to design, develop, tune and maintain large complex physical databases within various computing environments (e.g., UNIX, NT, intranet, Web, OS/390). Ensure data recovery, data integrity, space requirement, availability and performance for physical databases are met through formulation and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.

Provide a high degree of coordination between user, technical, application, and corporate entities to ensure effective database management. Above all, ensure solutions meet business objectives, and establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in IT's knowledge of and concern for users' business needs. Strong client/customer relationship with varying levels of technical expertise in a high-pressure, complex environment.

You will provide comprehensive consultation to client and data processing management and staff. Your exceptional people and project management skills will be essential when participating and/or leading multiple projects across regions under high pressure and strict deadlines. You will have an opportunity to work with a variety of business units across the organization, including Health Care, Clinical and Web Development to name a few. You may also be required to instruct and guide lower level technical professionals.

A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 8 to10 years of experience with DB2 Database Administration is required.  Strong knowledge of mainframe and distributed database concepts. Plus technical experience in Mainframe IBM and DB2/Connect, UNIX, UDB, Oracle, REXX, Cobol, CICS, MS Windows, NT.
