Yes, that is what I mean. I'm currently trying to use Rational Rose Data Modeler. It works but is a little bit buggy, and some operations are either not possible at all or they are complicated and produce incomplete results.

I have the Power Designer (version 6.1.4.790), but I thought it designs for Sybase engines only. Its target list contains only Sybase products. The help speaks about Oracle, too. Maybe I need some add-in modules?

The challenge in designing for multiple targets is to create a good database without becoming dependent on dbms-manufacturer-specific features.
