The nice thing about RDBMS is that there are no real secrets. The big thing is that they are built on well known algorithms that may be found in good books on algorithms.

The big issue is that in a RDBMS they make use of nearly everything so it is the complexity of the apllication program(s) we refer to a a RDBMS that make them hard to fully comprehend. Each individual part is not hard in itself.

So - there is no "real secet stuff"
