I'm sorry to sidetrack here, but

  1. Does anybody know 'must read' theoretical paper about queries on tree structures?
  2. Is tree querieng based on a similar foundation as cylindric algebras and Tarski's Algebraization Theorem in relational case? My ignorant assumption here is that the absence of such a nice theory makes querying tree structures difficult to impossible, but I'd like to learn more:-)
