Home -> Community -> Usenet -> comp.databases.theory -> howto change characterset in Interbase?
Hello all,
Does anyone know how i can change the character set used by Interbase in an existing database?
I'd like to use characters like ë and ï in an existing database where no characterset was previously declared. I tried to create a new database with 'SET ISO8859_1', fo far no problem, but when i want to migrate data from the old database to the new one, i get exception errors like: 'arithmetic exception, numeric overflow, or string truncation Cannot transliterate character between character sets'
Thanx in advance!
