Thanks for the advice guys,

Just to clarify, I want to create an executable database program that resides on a windows PC.

And would like this database to be able to replicate with a central database held somewhere on the internet so anyone in the world can access it.

I'd like the program to be stand alone, so for instance the user wouldn't require a package like MS Access to run it on.

I have VB6 at home (standard version), but was also told Delphi is good for databases that work through the internet.

So far I am working on a test version of the program, by constructing it in MS Access 2000, to work out how many fields and tables I will need. And just running the database from my own PC (i.e. not replicating with any others at the moment)

However when I am happy with the Access version I want to take it to the next stage of making it a standalone program. Will getting Access Developer's version be a good step or is it not powerful enough. I want to make the user interface as easy to use through click and point menus.

It's been a long time time I got down to serious programming (at that time I was using VB3), so I was wondering which out of the possible solution would require the least amount of code writing?

regards

Diamond
