Installing 9i or 10G on Linux RedHat x86 - errors.

Anyone have any idea how to get the installer up and running. I have had 10G installed on this box before.
We scrapped the box, recreated it, and now cannot install Oracle. Tells me Compat-db-4.0.14.5
compat-libstdc++-xxxxxx not installed, but they are.

I cannot even open the runistaller at this stage let alone get the database up!
Any idea's?
