Home -> Community -> Usenet -> comp.databases.oracle -> SOS :: A strange case of ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL!!!
Hi All,
I've recently moved from Oracle 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.0.2. i have started to see one of my Pro*C programs error out saying.
ERROR while bulk inserting into GRT_TXN for ID <1> KEY <83^2000^3^29> Error : <-1400> : <ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("DEXTER"."GRT_TXN"."TRANS_ID") But the subsequent run of the same job inserts the records which errored out previously.
The table is a local table. and i'm not using DB links to access this table.
please let me know what could be the problems, also gimme some pointers where i can look for help.
Awaiting Help.
Dexter.
