MERGE on spatial indexed tables

Is it possible to MERGE two tables having spatial index (index type
DOMAIN) on


some column ??? I get ORA-29885 domain index is defined on the column
to be modified when trying to do this. If not, is there any other way
to avoid


INSERT..SELECT statement ???
