Other than, as Karsten has noted, no place for /etc my only suggestion would be an additional 500MB for Oracle itself. 3GB might be a bit tight.

If you don't know vi ... be sure to have someone show you around vi.

But most importantly ... you MUST read and follow the installation instructions on the CD. Failure to do so will make Sybrand's concerns manifest themselves. If, during pre-installation, you have not created oinstall and dba UNIX groups, modified the kernel parameters in /etc/system, and rebooted the machine ... it will not work.
