Well, if you want to do it with RMAN, then go ahead... If you want to learn how to use it, then two things: 1) you should know how to use already because you do back up your production db, riight? and 2) RMAN is complicated, so you'd be better of by buying a book than implementing your backup the same way it is convenient for someone else in here. You should implement as it is convenient for your situation.

I'd also question the reasoning behind having a "test" database that is a full, recent copy of the production data... It totally depends on your situation, but do you _have_ to have that much data, so recent? Received on Mon Mar 03 2003 - 23:40:35 CET
