Oracle 9i and encrypted hard disk -> direct I/O problem?

Hello all,

I've been trying to install Oracle 9i database server on my laptop. Everything goes fine until when trying to create an actual database on disk (with Database Configuration Assistant). It seems that Oracle direct disk I/O does not work with my laptop encryption software (SafeGuard Easy, by Utimaco Software Ag).

Is it possible to bypass Oracle direct disk I/O i.e. by changing the configuration parameters? If yes, what are those parameters?

Any help would be appreciated!
