Hi there
if you are using unix, then give this command in the prompt
ps -ef |grep pmon
Usually it says pmon_initxxx.ora something..
xxx is the name of the instance.
now go to $ORACLE_HOME/dbs and look for all init*.ora
you should see initxxx.ora.. That should be your file
