As a rule of thumb, data warehousing databases benefit more from extra CPUs than extra RAM. This is because there is not as much need for sharable SQL in the library cache in data warehouses as there is in an OLTP application. But the non-sharable SQL found in data warehouses always benefits from extra CPU.
