Don't worry about it guys, I found what's wrong. It's not the special characters, but rather the fact that the varchar2's are of different sizes in the 2 tables, and sometimes the content is truncated in one of the tables, and therefore the contents is of course in that case considered different. Thanx for your suggestions.
