Hello All,

I am trying to install Oracle 9.2.0.1 on Redhat 7.3 and keep getting the following error:

Error in invoking target install of make file

/u01/product/9.2.0/plsql/ins_plsql.mk

After reading of a fix for Oracle 9.2.0.1 where you change the
/u01/product/9.2.0/bin/genclntsh

by modifing the line LD_SELF_CONTAINED to LD_SELF_CONTAINED=" " and running genclntsh.
I recieve hundreds of warning messages and this is the end of that run

/u01/product/9.2.0/lib/libn9.a(ntpass.o): In function `ntpassit':
ntpass.o(.text+0xf0): multiple definition of `ntpassit'
/u01/product/9.2.0/lib/libn8.a(ntpass.o)(.text+0xd0): first defined here
/usr/bin/ld: Warning: size of symbol `ntpassit' changed from 167 to 173 in
/oracle/u01/product/9.2.0/lib/libn9.a(ntpass.o)
/u01/product/9.2.0/lib/libn9.a(ntpass.o): In function `ntrecvhdl':
ntpass.o(.text+0x1c0): multiple definition of `ntrecvhdl'
/u01/product/9.2.0/lib/libn8.a(ntpass.o)(.text+0x178): first defined here
/usr/bin/ld: Warning: size of symbol `ntrecvhdl' changed from 115 to 124 in
/oracle/u01/product/9.2.0/lib/libn9.a(ntpass.o)
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Created /oracle/u01/product/9.2.0/lib/libclntst9.a

Once again I tried to continue the linking but it still fails. I have tried backreving my binutils to the version that was shipped with Redhat 7.0 (as recommended by oracle for version 9.1.0) without success. Any ideas on how to get around this error would be greatly appreciated. Received on Fri Nov 01 2002 - 21:31:40 CET
