Oracle service running-- what services

Hi All,

I am trying to install oracle 8i ee in XP with Designer 6i, and developer 6i.
I have read most of the postings here, and it still didn't solve my problem. I installed desinger in orant folder. I got a message saying I have to install repository later, as I have not installed database yet. I accepted, and moved on with developer. Here lies my problem: when its installing core40.dll, it gives error message saying:
"Some Oracle products are currently in use. Please stop all Windows NT services".

And basically it hangs. I have not been able to go any further. I tried task manager, msconfig, and could not find any oracle service running. Pls help.
