    Part of the DBA's JOB is to control access to the database. That you think administering a database is simple indicates that you have worked with a VERY good DBA. It is sort of like a good magic or athletic performance. It looks so easy that "it can't possibly be that hard". What you don't see is the amount of work that went into making it look that easy. Either that or you have no clue what a DBA is supposed to do and you think every user should have complete access to the entire system and are still upset that a DBA restricted your privileges. Whatever.
