You need to set your ORACLE_SID to YYYDB, have your new initYYYDB.ora and then to create database YYYDB, just like you did for XXXDB. Make sure your semaphone setting (in /etc/system) is big enough for both XXXDB and YYYDB. I have done this many times and never had any problems.
