Standard and Enterprise versions use the same db engine. Main differences are:
price (300$ - 1 Std Named User, 800$ - 1 Ent Named User) OPS,
transportable tablespaces,
materialized views,
Fine-grained access control,
N-tier authentication/ authorization (with LDAP), ... In fact, instead-of triggers are available in standard version. Generally you can use standard edition with middle-size database (up to about 200 users)
