controlfile older datafile

Hi all,
I was forced to retransfer an inconsistent backup of the oracle database version 7 on the operating system solaris 2.6. This backup consists of three directories. One of them was saved by tar after an intermideate start of the database and the other two directories were saved before. After retransferring these files it was impossible to start the database. I got the error message "controlfile older than a datafile". It is possible to manipulate that controlfile? Who can help?
