oracle-8 & visual c++ 6 connectivity problem

Dear Friends,

Please give me solution to overcome from the following problem.

To connect oracle-8 to visual c++ 6, I used the Mircosoft ODBC oracle driver.
Problem is, visual c++ 6 treated oracle number variable as CString. Means when visual c++ 6 defines the table fields of oracle-8, number field treated as CString.

Please reply me as soon as possible.
