when to use CACHE option

Hi All,
Oracle allows us to specify CACHE at the table level. I understand that it places the blocks retrieved at the most recently used end so that the data wont be swapped out.
Is there any guidelines (best practices) when to use CACHE and when not to use CACHE option ?. Likewise for IOTs.
