REP-0001: Unable to initialize message subsystem.

Can someone help me. We recently upgraded to 8.17 and when I try to run oracle reports the following appears.

exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program /usr/bin/X11/mfyi because of the following errors:

        0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for mxdw because:
        0509-136   Symbol _XtUnregisterWindow (number 168) is not
exported from
                   dependent module /usr/lib/libXt.a(shr4.o).
        0509-136   Symbol _XtRegisterWindow (number 172) is not
exported from
                   dependent module /usr/lib/libXt.a(shr4.o).
        0509-192 Examine .loader section symbols with the


                 'dump -Tv' command.
