Hi

There are a couple of white papers that may be of interest for you:

  1. http://www.quest.com/whitepapers/Raid1.pdf This mentions using HP Auto Raid in a hybrid environment like the one you describe (and I put up with at my site) at the bottom of page 10.
  2. http://otn.oracle.com/deploy/availability/pdf/oow2000_same.pdf This puts a good case forward for simply making the best of what you've got.

At our site we have HP-UX11 and autoraid but our application is in the autoraid as well as the database. To be honest its a nightmare but that said its oldish kit (due to be replaced in a few months) so hopefully you won't have the same problems we have.
