Snapshots based upon views

Hi,
For security reasons I have to create snapshots based upon views in the masterdatabase rather than on tables. I am using Oracle 8i SE 8.1.7. It seems to work, but once I had a message during the first refresh that talked about problems with the primary keys. But when I did the refresch again it seemed to work.
Does anybody know if it is a good idea to create snapshots based upon views in the masterdatabase ? What problems could occur ?
