Simple really,

Copy the entire 8.1.7 CD to your HD.

Search and destroy on SYMCJIT.DLL (There are two and they are buried VERY deep on the CD)

Install from the Hard drive.

Fixed in 9i. And of course, works fine on every other CPU out there - Like AMD's Thunderbird line.
