I tried creating user with OPS$ prefix and it worked.
The unix account userid is abc,
My question is: why didn't it work when i did
create abc... identified externally from sqlplus.
My database name is dia3.
In $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initdia3.ora, i explicitly gave
OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX="".
Why didn't it work before?
By the way there is a init.ora file in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
dir. which file should be modified? initdia3.ora or init.ora.
$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initdia3.ora is linking to $ORACLE_HOME/admin/
dia3/init.ora.
Which is the actual configuration file?
