Hello everybody,

I am trying to get 9i up and running on suse linux 7.3 professional edition - without much luck. runInstaller calls a script genclntsh, which is supposed to link the library libclntsh.so.9.0. This fails with the following error:

/opt/oracle/lib/libgeneric9.a(skgfr.o): In function `skgfrpini':
skgfr.o(.text+0x125): undefined reference to `__cmpdi2'

Has anybody come across this before? Any work arounds?

Suse Linux 7.3 runs the 2.4.10-4GB kernel and glibc 2.2.4. Both a few notches above the 2.2.4 kernel and 2.2 glibc that 9i is certified on in Linux 7.1. (Unfortunately driver/hardware incompatibility means Linux 7.1 will not install on this PC.)

Any help appreciated,

/peter harris
