OK, I admit that I don't really know much about Oracle, but SHEESH it
seems like Oracle almost INTENDS to make their stuff more difficult
than necessary.
All I wanted to do was install the latest Oracle ODBC client on my
Windows XP machine. I downloaded the Oracle 9i driver, which was
compressed in the funkiest .JAR format I've ever seen (read: add 20
minutes to installation time to find a decompresor)
Then I look around for SETUP.EXE or INSTALL.EXE or
RUN-THIS-YOU-DUMBASS.EXE. Nothing. Nada. Ok, spend a few minutes
reading the readme.. I need the "Oracle Universal Installer"... hmm...
ok...
Go back to the Oracle website... hmmm... can't be found.. lots of
references but no bits.
Can someone *PLEASE* tell me where I can get a version of Oracle
Universal Installer that works with version 9?
Thanks,
- Jim
