Hello everybody, we are in the process of setting up a new database server for our productive environment.
We are currently using a Compaq Proliant box with an external disk array configured in RAID 0+1 using NTFS partitions.

The new database server has the same hardware configuration, but in preparation for the set-up of a 2-node cluster using OPS, we wanted to configure the system to use the raw partitions instead of NTFS ones.

Unluckily, after the creation of the raw partitions, the Database Assistant can't find and use them. We think this might come from the fact that we haven't yet installed the OSD system and the OPS software.

However, we don't know if this is true. Therefore the question is: is it possible to setup a db server using Oracle 8.1.6 EE on NT using raw partitions for a standalone box using an external disk array?

Thanks
