Hi, I'm researching app servers and have some questions regarding 9iAS.

  1. Is it possible to install/run 9iAS separately from the database? Or, is database installation required to run the app server?
  2. Is RedHat still officially supported by the Oracle for its App Server? I've heard a rumor Oracle dropped RedHat support because of a RedHat decision to bundle database software (postgres maybe?). Just wondering if there is any truth to this.
  3. What types of price incentives are offered to existing database customers (of 9i) to use the app server? I realize this varies from shop to shop but in general, I'd like to know how much of a break you get for using the database.

Much Thanks. Received on Tue Dec 11 2001 - 17:06:01 CET
