We use a tool to generate most passwords, and one password which was
generated contained an _at_ symbol. The oracle user password was set...
but how can a user connect when there is an _at_ in the password:
$ sqlplus user/p_at_ssword_at_tnsname
(I know there are security issues with using the password on the
command line, but ignore those for now...) The results in oracle
thinking the password is simply 'p'. and an error of:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
I tried to escape it various ways, but didn't come up with a solution.
We have since changed the password, but Im curious if there is a
solution to this...
Many thanks in advance...
