Hanging Sessions with MicroStrategy?

We are using MicroStrategy Web v6.0, Intelligence Server v6, and an Oracle 8.1.7 database.
We are having a problem in that there are ever increasing numbers of inactive sessions being maintained on the database, all originating from MicroStrategy Web's engines (xtab.exe, and engine.exe).
Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, what can be done about it?
