Oracle 8.1.7 on Mandrake 7.2

Hi, 



I have just started to learn Oracle on Linux and used a downloaded
version of 8.1.6R2 of Oracle, it hangs in my Mandrake 7.2. Later I
found out that there was glibc compatibility issues.



I am going to download 8.1.7 and install it on Mandrake 7.2. Has the
installation hanging problem gone away ?



Next question, I was also thinking of getting Oracle 8.1.7 CDPack from
the Oracle store. It offers trial license with a 30-day limit. After
30-days, what happens ? I am not going to use the Oracle for any
production or commercial purpose.
