After using a Client and ODBC driver that worked, I had to upgrade to Client 8.1.7 (because, just because). Now on my machine, I can't get an ODBC connection to the remote database at all. I am using Windows NT v4.0, with patch 5 or 6.

There is an error when I try to connect : Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126.

According to everyone else, this should mean that the Oracle/Ora81/bin directory is not in my system path. Well, according to eternally outdated Oracle documentation, it says that my OraNT directory is not on my system path.

My system path has :
E:\Oracle\Ora81\bin;C:\Program
Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;C:\Program Files\Mts;C:\Program Files\Symantec\pcAnywhere\;

My User-Variables path has :
E:\Oracle\Ora81\bin;C:\Program
Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\Borland\Delphi5\Projects\Bpl;C:\PROGRA~1\Borland\Delphi5\Bin

I installed client 8.1.7 and downloaded and then tried to install ODBC 8.1.7 driver from www.oracle.com when the other driver had the same problem, thinking it would fix it.
