RF System Engineer - Tuner: San Diego, CA Join a world class team of RF and IC engineers to develop highly integrated radio modems up to 6GHz using an advanced SOI BiCMOS process. As a RF engineer you will participate in defining the system design, work with IC engineers on implementation tradeoffs and finally test the IC in the lab. You will also have the opportunity to interact with customers. The company has state of the art design tools and lab equipment like HPADS, Cadence RF Spectre and Matlab.
Define requirements specifications with customers based on applicable standards
Simulation and modeling of system design for Tuners Write system design documents and IC specifications Design PCB boards for testing of IC
Debug and performance optimization in the lab Support IC and module characterization
Experience / Requirements: You understand the details of circuit behavior including noise, distortion, bias and stability and can explain it in practical mathematical terms. You also know your test equipment well, how it
works and its limitations. Don't limit yourself to designing black box IC onto a PCB board. With custom IC design you will not have to build your system around available components and you will know the 'ins and outs' of the design. Requires BSEE + minimum of 5 years related experience and a solid understanding of RF system and circuit design. Experience with PCB design and testing RF circuits required. Familiarity with design tools like HPADS, Excel, Matlab or Mathcad required. In addition, you understand advanced RF architectures, mixed signal circuits and digital signal processing and are able to model the system in HPADS or Matlab. Move the RF/digital boundary and put all of it into a single. tariq_at_nsquare.com
