Sirs!
I am working in networking area, dealing with the access
control and quality of service. My goal is to classify the
network connections in order to assign some priorities.
So far I know that oracle uses the 66th port and can
distinguish the IP addresses, but I'd like to know, whether
it is possible to make better classification, e.g. depending
on database names.
My question is: where can I find the Oracle SQL*NET _protocol_
specification? Does any RFC (like RFC2068 for HTTP and RFC2518
for Distributed Authoring Tools HTTP extension) exists?
Another question is: what is the amount of data (the network
load) transferred by Oracle interactions by SQL*NET protocol
in comparison with the amount of data sent by HTTP protocol?
