If those applications use "intimate shared memory"; (I.e., SHARE_MMU shared memory), such as Oracle databases, then yes.

(I think the bug in 2.6 and earlier causes the memory to be locked down, which takes away memory from swap, and reserved as swap space, so you pay twice)
