EMC and oracle

We have recently ran into an IBM AIX bug that deals with async I/O. Until IBM fixes the issue we have incorporating an Oracle patch that deals with the bad return code from the OS. So the question is if we get rid of the SSA IBM disk and go with an EMC solution does Oracle still use async's.
