Oracle 7 thin client and '/' login ?

Hi,

Could someone tell me how I can use the '/' login when using the Oracle thin client. The users here don't know their Oracle password, rather the are allowed to login if they have a valid Unix login. For example since my user is recognised by the DB as being internal (or is it external), I can easily type 'sqlplus /' and go and my stuff.
