Oracle8 Client Install

My company has developed a client / server application in VB. Rather than installing the approx 45 mb that is included in the standard Oracle8 SQLNet / Net8 client installation, is it possible to only install the essentials? Is there a widely available end-user installation of the client only? Or perhaps something that I could include within the installer of our VB client application?
