limiting attempted logins

Hi,
We had a situation where a user's program was logging on and off Oracle every 2 seconds. Because we have some auditing turned on this caused us a problem with the archive log files filling up our file system. Is there any way to limit the number of attempted logins, per hour ? Or in any other way ?
